DHS PU double lip wiper seal for hydraulic cylinder piston rod

What Is a DHS Wiper Seal for Hydraulic Cylinders

For hydraulic cylinders working in dusty construction sites, dirt contamination is one of the main reasons for early seal failure. Many buyers and engineers ask about DHS wiper seals, the first line of protection for piston rods.

DHS is a double-lip dust wiper made of PU (polyurethane). It is installed in the outermost groove of the cylinder head.
The outer lip scrapes dust, mud, grit and moisture from the piston rod as it retracts, stopping contaminants from entering inside the cylinder.
The inner lip wipes the thin residual oil film on the rod surface and returns oil back into the cylinder. It keeps the equipment exterior clean and protects the main UN rod seal.

Compared with single-lip dust seals, DHS double lip design provides both dust scraping and oil return function. PU material delivers great wear resistance for frequent reciprocating movement.

DHS PU wiper seals are widely used for construction machinery and industrial hydraulic cylinders. We supply many standard sizes, custom dimensions available to match your cylinder groove.

Note: PU DHS seals perform best within moderate temperature ranges. Not suitable for continuous high heat applications.
